Hawaii

We just got back on Thursday from spending a wonderful week in Kauai. It was an incredibly laid back trip, which is just what we all needed. We went with my whole family, to celebrate my grandparents 50th wedding anniversary. They are such a blessing to us and we are so happy to have them as a part of our family.

We spent some time on the beach, seeing different sights, and just spending time with our family. There were 15 of us, plus the babies! So it was quite the adventure. I absolutely HATE flying, so that was the worst part of the trip for me, but once we got there, it was wonderful. Kauai is very green and gorgeous. I love everything about the island, EXCEPT the humidity. That drove me crazy. It makes me thankful that I live in a desert :)

We saw a lighthouse, several beautiful beaches, and some cool caves, We did lots of shopping, and waited impatiently to find out when miss hurricane Felicia would. . . bless us, with her presence. Which thankfully she never showed her face! We got out of there the day the rain started, and as far as I know, it's still raining. Anyway, enough chattering, here are some pictures, in no specific order.

I promise I took many more pictures than this, but I'm too tired to post them. :)

Family :)

When Parker was 4 days old, Parker got to meet his grandparents, (daddy's side). They visited for a week, and it was a wonderful visit. Here are some pictures of the memories made :)

I know, I know, it's been FOREVER since I posted. But it's been a busy 6 months. We spent the first half of the year preparing for our baby on the way. At about 35 weeks they did an ultrasound and found that Parker was a little smaller than they really wanted. I had weekly non-stress tests to make sure his heart rate was where they wanted it, and then we decided to induce at 39 weeks. I was definitely ready to not be pregnant anymore, so we were all for it!

On June 8, 2009, we went to the hospital at 7 in the morning. When they finally had Parker holding still enough to get a good heart rate reading, they started me on Pitocin to induce. Until about 11 they continually raised the dosage to get me having regular contractions, then they broke my water. Within 15 minutes I went from light, sporadic contractions, to one big consistent contraction. That's when I decided on the epidural. :) They checked my cervix right before breaking my water, and I was at a 3. About 45 minutes after breaking my water, and getting my epidural, I was checked again and was at a 9 almost a 10! Talk about quick! Conveniently, when they found that out, Brandon had JUST gone to get lunch. I called him and told him to bring his lunch back to the room :)

Within another half hour, we were ready to go, and in an hour and a half of not so comfortable pushing, and even MORE uncomfortable flipping of the baby, we had our son. Parker Robert Bolton, born June 8th, 2009, at 4:41 PM. He was 6 lbs 5 oz, and 19.5 inches long, and completely utterly amazingly perfect.

Here are some pictures from our hospital stay. If you start at the bottom they're actually in order!
