On June 8, 2009, we went to the hospital at 7 in the morning. When they finally had Parker holding still enough to get a good heart rate reading, they started me on Pitocin to induce. Until about 11 they continually raised the dosage to get me having regular contractions, then they broke my water. Within 15 minutes I went from light, sporadic contractions, to one big consistent contraction. That's when I decided on the epidural. :) They checked my cervix right before breaking my water, and I was at a 3. About 45 minutes after breaking my water, and getting my epidural, I was checked again and was at a 9 almost a 10! Talk about quick! Conveniently, when they found that out, Brandon had JUST gone to get lunch. I called him and told him to bring his lunch back to the room :)
Within another half hour, we were ready to go, and in an hour and a half of not so comfortable pushing, and even MORE uncomfortable flipping of the baby, we had our son. Parker Robert Bolton, born June 8th, 2009, at 4:41 PM. He was 6 lbs 5 oz, and 19.5 inches long, and completely utterly amazingly perfect.
Here are some pictures from our hospital stay. If you start at the bottom they're actually in order!
My son, and my niece!
